AFTERCARE

The Belfast Knee Clinic Partnership provides aftercare for its patients between review appointments. Typical hospital stays and reviews for routine procedures are:

Arthroscopy:

 

- Day case (no overnight stay). Review at 6 - 8 weeks.

 

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction:

 

- Day case or 1 overnight stay. Review 1 - 2 weeks, 6 - 8 weeks, and 6 - 9 months.

 

High Tibial Osteotomy:

 

- 2-3 nights post-op stay. Non-weight bearing in Cast or Brace for 6 - 8 weeks. Review at 2 weeks, 6 - 8 weeks, 3 months and 9 months.

 

Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty:

 

- 2-5 nights post-op stay. Review 6 weeks, 6 months, 1 year, 2 years.

 

Total Knee Replacement:

 

- 2-5 nights post-op stay. Review 6 weeks, 6 months, 1 year,  2 years.
